In this class, students will saw, file, shape, solder, form, and polish a ring to fit their finger.

This is an approachable introduction to working with metal. No experience is necessary.

Does your Teen have an interest in learning to work with clay? Join us in our clay studios where we have been teaching wheel throwing and hand building for 80 years. Our guided demonstrations and projects are designed to build a strong technical foundation for such a versatile craft. Students will learn how to center clay, shape a vessel, trim, glaze, sculpt and build. They will make functional and non functional objects as they develop an independent portfolio of work. This class is open to all skill levels and may be taken again and again.

This workshop will focus on small three dimensional projects. Students will learn all about three dimensional soldering, tips and tricks for constructing solid long lasting joints, and how to attach different types of hanging loops and wire.

Students must wear closed-toed shoes, sneakers recommended.

During this engaging one day course, students will learn the basics of lead free stained glass craft. Students will leave class at the end of the day with a finished 8”x8” window panel mounted in a wooden frame. 

Lead free solder is better for your health and the environment but takes a little practice to get into the flow (pun intended).

Students must wear closed-toed shoes, sneakers recommended.

This course will explore the basic principles of Life Drawing with a nude model. Some sessions will offer still-life arrangements in order to allow students a variety of subject matter. This is open to novice, intermediate and advanced artists, and various mediums are encouraged.   Students will be asked to agree to specific behavior codes of conduct on the first day of class in order to assure a safe and comfortable environment for all individuals present.

Create a one of a kind butcher block table for your kitchen! Interested in woodworking and looking for a way to get started? This introductory course is designed to give beginner students the basics in using hand tools and shop machinery to design and make a beautiful one of a kind project. Did you know that the Shelburne Craft School began as a woodshop in the basement of a church rectory over 70 years ago? Today, our woodshop is housed in a warm, historic, natural light-filled building in the heart of Shelburne Village. Our instructors are professional woodworkers who offer expert guidance and begin each session with a demonstration and a run through of how to safely use each machine. Each session includes one on one support to help students gain confidence with creative decision making. This course offers a different project each season designed to further develop the beginner woodworker's skill set.

This course offers painters with a practice to improve their skill through critique and insight. Each week begins with a critique that focuses on light, composition and color and then opens to painting with deep, thoughtful feedback from Stephanie. This course can be taken again and again.

Students bring their own supplies.

This course is located in our cheerful, yellow historic bunkhouse which once housed the individuals who built the railroad tracks.

Have you ever wanted to see what film can do when you break all the rules? In this 8 week class we will be experimenting with a variety of photographic, development and darkroom techniques that push (and pull) the limits of what is possible in film photography. Learn about cross-processing, redscaling, film soup, alternative darkroom chemistry, using expired film, double exposure, camera hacking, and more! This class is open to everyone from beginners and seasoned pros; cameras and film will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own materials.
