In this class, participants will make a pair of copper dangle earrings. Students will cut shapes from a sheet of copper, texture the surface, and drill a hole for assembly. The shapes can match or be asymmetrical, giving each pair its own character.
Participants will attach their copper shapes to a silver chain and connect the chain to earring wires using jump rings, creating lightweight earrings with gentle movement.
If time allows, students may also darken or color the copper using a torch to create a patina—a natural surface color that develops with heat to highlight the texture.
This three-hour class is designed as an approachable introduction to working with metal. No experience is necessary.
