Weaving the Receiving Bowl

$110

with Bradie Hansen

Calendar Mar 28, 2026 at 10 am

The Receiving Bowl is a sculpture brought to form by tugging, pulling, and adjusting certain threads of a woven piece. It is a project designed to invite the weaver to consider self-beliefs, personal narratives, and is an invitation to look at these themes with fresh eyes.

This is part 2 of a 4-part series that will include projects from Susan Barrett Merrill’s The Art of Weaving a Life. Bradie is a Weaving a Life leader having studied with Susan back in 2017.

Weaving the Receiving Bowl is a meaningful way to usher in spring, a time of new life, new ideas, and fresh energy to nurture ourselves with love and compassion.

Part 3 will be offered in later spring, and part 4 over the summer. They do not all need to be taken to enjoy their benefits.

No weaving experience necessary to enjoy this class.

Wild Weaving Blue Moon Weekend Workshop

$370

with Bradie Hansen

Calendar May 29, 2026 at 10 am, runs for 1 week

This three-day workshop offers an opportunity to weave with abandon, following the directions of instinct, whimsy, and one’s own uniquely creative expression. Do you have sticks, stones, fabrics, or papers you’ve been hanging onto because you know they’d be beautiful in something? This is the class where they might find their place!

Students need not have any weaving experience to explore the boundaries of warp and weft. We will be using a variety of frame and circular looms to create one of a kind pieces that embody the weaver and this “once in a blue moon” moment. The only requirement will be to come ready to play and break some rules.

How will this workshop be organized?

Each day we will meet from 10am - 4pm. We will be able to work both inside and out (weather depending). Weavers can bring lunch/snacks each day or can access the local markets/restaurants or the Shelburne Farmer’s Market on Saturday that runs from 9am - 1:30pm. Lunch breaks will hover around 12:30. There is a refrigerator, microwave, and tea kettle available for use.

On Sunday, we will roll into our third day of weaving together with the Full Blue Moon energy as our guide. There will be also be some time of reflection on how we’d like to harness our creative energy throughout the summer months.

Weaving the Mask

This is part 4 of a 4-part series that include projects from Susan Barrett Merrill’s The Art of Weaving a Life. Bradie is a Weaving a Life leader having studied with Susan back in 2017.

Weaving experience is not necessary to enjoy this workshop.

This will be a peaceful, powerful, and highly creative weekend workshop.

Materials:

Looms, yarns, and other materials will be available for use in this class. If you have sticks, driftwood, yarns or other fibers you like, as well as other materials that speak to you and that you might want to consider as an adornment for your mask, please bring them along!

Saturday will be spent weaving your mask.

Sunday will be spent shaping, adorning, and finishing your mask.

Introduction to Tapestry Weaving Weekend Workshop

$275

with Susan Snider

Calendar Jul 18, 2026 at 10 am

Have you been curious about Tapestry Weaving but weren't sure about registering for a multi-week class? Or, are you looking for a great way to dive into a new art form and immerse yourself in learning? This tapestry weaving weekend workshop is for you!

Tapestry weaving dates back thousands of years and is a woven art form that conjures many images in peoples’ minds. It is a medium that allows the weaver to create shape, design, texture and symbol using yarn. In this course, students will learn fundamental skills required for taking their tapestry weaving ideas to the next level.

We will use a simple frame loom that students will learn to warp themselves. Students will create samplers that will include most if not all of the following elements: horizontal and vertical lines, spots, and shapes like squares, rectangles and triangles, outlining, and some finishing techniques.

Come join us for this immersive introductory experience with tapestry weaver, Susan Snider.
